News and Announcements
The tackle football season has wrapped up for another year and our inaugural season as the Kelowna Junior Sun family was a spectacular success! The crowning achievement was our PeeWee Green team capturing the Provincial Champion title this past weekend for 9-man football, with solid wins over the Victoria Renegades and the Prince George Axemen.
Other highlights include the PeeWee Red fundraiser in support of the Canadian Cancer Society in a show of love and support for one of our own Football Moms fighting her battle with Cancer; Atom Grey hosting a fun post game BBQ for their rivals from Kamloops; And on the field, this season wrapped up with both Atom teams reaching playoffs and Green playing in the SIFC Final. The PeeWee Division of the SIFC saw all 4 Kelowna teams grab a playoff spot, with the Green and Blue playing a gritty Final battle with strong defensive play from both teams. In the Junior Bantam division, our Green and Blue teams secured playoff berths, however came up just short with strong competition from Kamloops and Salmon Arm respectively.
Thank you everyone for another wonderful season of tackle football in the Okanagan. The tradition of excellence continues and our programs are looking strong for years to come.

We are excited to announce that all teams will now be united under the Junior Sun banner as we are one football family here at KMFA. Football in Kelowna is growing in popularity and it was time to increase the number of teams available for more opportunity for kids to play. With this, changes were made to how teams are formed, giving kids a great new chance to meet new teammates and experience different coaches for an enhanced playing experience. The City of Kelowna officially proclaimed August 30th “Football Day in Kelowna” in 2009, recognizing that the sport of Football is a great opportunity for today’s youths to learn new skills, face new challenges, and participate in a team atmosphere; that the game of Football challenges and demands the best from each participant for the achievement of a common goal; and that the community as a whole be invited to take part in the celebration of this game we love.
Kelowna Minor Football Association is committed to providing a fun and enjoyable playing experience for our Members while providing an opportunity to carry over skills learned on the field into other aspects of their lives. Collectively, our mission is to foster an environment where we can teach life skills including teamwork, discipline, self-esteem and work ethic through the game of Football.
